The Alamo Area Fire Chiefs Association is a signatory to the Regional Mutual Aid Agreement (RMA) administered by the Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG). This agreement enables cities, counties, emergency service districts, and other local entities to request and provide mutual aid in times of emergency.
Currently, 57 member governments and emergency service districts participate in this program, supporting one another by sharing:
Fire and emergency medical services
Law enforcement resources
Public works personnel and equipment
Key Provisions
Voluntary Participation: Jurisdictions are not obligated to respond but may do so if resources allow.
Activation: Aid is requested when an emergency exceeds the capabilities of the requesting entity.
Supervision & Reimbursement: Responding entities retain supervision of their personnel. Cost recovery may apply depending on deployment length.
NIMS Compliance: All operations align with the National Incident Management System for unified response.
