The strength of the Alamo Area Fire Chiefs Association (AAFCA) lies in the collaboration and dedication of its members. Our subcommittees play a vital role in advancing our mission and shaping the direction of the organization. These working groups provide meaningful opportunities for members to contribute their expertise, share ideas, and help drive regional progress.

• Training Subcommittee

  • The Training Subcommittee is responsible for identifying, coordinating, and promoting regional training opportunities that enhance the operational readiness and professional development of fire service personnel. This group works closely with member departments and training institutions to ensure relevant, high-quality instruction is accessible across the Alamo Area.

  • Whether it's organizing joint drills, recommending specialized courses, or sharing training resources, this committee ensures our members stay at the forefront of evolving emergency service practices.

• Nomination Subcommittee

  • The Nomination Subcommittee oversees the process of identifying and vetting candidates for board positions within the Association. This committee ensures transparency, fairness, and continuity in leadership by soliciting nominations, reviewing qualifications, and presenting a slate of candidates for member consideration in accordance with the Association’s bylaws.

  • Their work upholds the integrity of the Association and helps ensure strong, representative leadership from across our region.
