Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
The AAFCA is a regional organization of fire service leaders from Bexar County and surrounding areas. It exists to enhance emergency services through collaboration, training, mutual aid, and leadership development across the fire service.
Meetings are primarily intended for member departments and invited guests. While AAFCA is a nonprofit made up of public servants, it is not a governmental body and is not required to open meetings to the general public. However, visitors may request to attend by contacting a board member in advance.
The AAFCA meets regularly, typically on a monthly basis. Meeting dates, agendas, and minutes are posted on the Documents or Home page.
Membership is open to fire chiefs, assistant chiefs, and executive officers of fire departments within the Alamo Area region. Participation by additional department leadership may be considered based on need and bylaws. Second in command is heavily encouraged to participate.
